It’s those three little words women love to hear. Just the whisper of those three little words can send shivers down her spine. Three little words that, after a long, hot dryspell can excite a girl like no others. Just say it. Make her happy. Say it!

See! What did I tell ya? Goosebumps, shivers and all. It doesn’t work for me though. Most moms love to hear those words, but I just don’t love “Back To School” as much as some moms I know. I am excited for my kids to go back to school because they enjoy school and they get excited when it’s time for school to start up again, but I always lament the end of those crazy days of summer.

ok thats a lie…i’m blogging about not blogging!!! i’m lame i know
well went away on a retreat this past week, which was not much of a retreat to be honest. the place was beautiful as you can see from the picture… but i was up tossing and turning all night both nights not getting any rest. it hit me the second night, i wasn’t needing to get away from work and my surroundings i was needing to get away from myself… from my dreams and hopes and aspirations… and realize that even though i have the light of Christ we walk (i walk) in a lot of darkness in our lives

Over the past few decades, the United States has steadily evolved from a nation of ‘producers’ to one of ‘consumers’. The change has been celebrated by politicians and economists as proof of America’s arrival at the top of the global economic food chain. In reality, the development has depleted the nation of its hard-earned wealth, and has led us to the brink of ruin.
But rather than encouraging a return of America’s productive energy, our government is responding to the growing economic crisis by simply trying to boost consumerism at all costs. Their strategy involves socializing losses among all citizens so that the depletion can’t be easily discerned.

For a while there I really thought that I had moved beyond that whole “being profoundly broke and not being able to pay bills thing”. Turns out, I was wrong. I am perpetually wrong. This evening I get my bank statement to find that I have blown through all that I had saved up, leaving me a ultra charming $62 in my account. Please note, rent is due tomorrow. Oh, that’s right, and I have TWO of them this month.
